Wayne County Register of Deeds, Goldsboro, NC - 155 acres
This indenture executed this the 28th day of April AD 1871 between Sally E Cobb & John P Cobb & Newman Potts all of the county & state aforesaid witnesseth that the said Sally E Cobb & Jno P Cobb in consideration of the sum of one thousand dollars to them in hand paid by the said Newman Potts the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted bargained & sold & by these presents grants bargains & sells unto the said Newman Potts his heirs & assigns all of the following described tract or parcel of land situated on the south side of Neuse River in said Wayne County adjoining the lands of Richard Rollins and described as follows: beginning at said Rollins corner near the end of Jones Mill Dam, to river bank, to stake in the Big Slough containing one hundred fifty five acres, land being a part of a tract which was conveyed to said Sally E Cobb by Wm H Cobb, Administrator of William D. Cobb, deceased.
