Died in Halifax county at the seat of Mr. Willis Alston on the 27th December, Mr. Joshua Potts for many years a highly respectable merchant of Wilmington and a most amiable and upright man, in the 74th year of his age.

Mr. Shober, from the committee on Military Land Warrants, to whom was referred a resolution instructing them to enquire into the expediency of allowing to Joshua Potts, a land warrant for his services as superintendent commissary in this State during the Revolutionary War, reported in his favor, and that a warrant be issued to him or his legal representative for 8, 840 (3, 340?) acres of land
