Commissioners G. W. Collier, Bright Best and Wm. D. Cobb were directed by the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions at November Term 1842 to divide the land of John McKinne among the lawful heirs of John McKinne and on 17 Dec 1842 presented their findings to the court. Lot No 2 - drawn by Hepsey Feutrel beginning at a stake at the west end of the Mill Dam and runs with Robert McKinne's line to a stake on the north side of Poplar Branch his corner in the back line to the run of Carraway's Creek in the Mill pond to a stake about 60 yards above the Mill house then north to the Mill dam and containing 72 3/4 acres valued at $200. Indenture made February 21, 1850 between Wilbert J. Futrell and wife Hepsey [McKinne] and William Caraway all of Wayne, for $200 land in Wayne on the waters of Caraway Creek adjacent to the west end of the Mill Dam, Robert McKinne's line, north side of Poplar Branch, run of Caraway Creek in the Mill pond, above the Mill house and containing 72 3/4 acres. Indenture made 7 Feb 1857 between W. J. Futrell and Curtis P. Moore both of Wayne, for $10 land in Wayne on the east side of the public road that leads from Goldsboro to Wilmington adjacent to said Moore and John Cox Senr. containing a square of 2 acres. Capps both of Wayne, for $415 land in Wayne on the south side of Neuse River and east side of the Wilmington & Weldon Railroad and on the waters of the Marsh Branch in the road below said Capps Mill formerly Casey's adjacent to Boykin's field, formerly owned by Richard Casey containing 62 acres. Watson both of Wayne, for $2500 land in Wayne near the road adjoining the village of Everittsville beginning at the SW corner of the Academy lot then runs east 40 poles the SE corner of the Church lot then N 25 1/2 poles to the NE corner of the Church lot then N 66 E 234 poles to Poplar Branch then S 17 1/4 W 165 poles then S 63 W 219 2/3 poles then N 31 W 14 poles then N 128 1/4 poles to the beginning containing 200 acres. Mortgate deed made 5 Dec 1856 between John Pelt and Wilbert J. Futrell both of Wayne, for $565 land in Wayne on the east side of the Wilmington & Weldon Railroad adjacent to the run of Marshy Branch in the road below Casey's Mill, large path leading from said Casey's field, Robert Field's corner, bay in Casey's Mill Branch containing 62 acres. Indenture made 1 Jan 1857 between Dr. B. F. Arrington and W. J. Futrell both of Wayne, have this day entered into a partnership in the Turpentine business subject to restrictions that the profits be equally shared during the year 1857 and that W. J. Futrell take into copartnership in the Turpentine business in Columbus County, NC and have an interest equal to his in 3000 acres of land bought by N. L. & D.
