State of North Carolina Know all men by these presents, that we William A. Potts & Justin E. Jones are held and firmly bound unto the State of North Carolina in the sum of one thousand dollars current money to be paid to the State: To which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and severally firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals, and dated this 16th day of October A.D. 1850. The Condition of the above Obligation is such, that whereas the above bounden William A. Potts hath made application for a License for a Marriage, intended to solemnized between him and Josephine C. Latham of the County aforesaid. Now is case it shall not appear at any time hereafter, that there is any Lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage, then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
