Robert B. Potts enlisted on May 16, 1861 in the Confederate North Carolina Infantry Regiment 4 Co. D & was a 2nd Lt. then went to 1st Lt. on October 1, 1861. I found where he resigned his commission due to ill health. He listed his residence as Goldsboro, Wayne Co., NC. Military Records


W. H. Potts in enlisted May 16, 1861 in Wayne County on the same day as Robert B. Potts. No other information found.


J. D. Potts was in the 1860 Wayne County Census, age 20, occupation Telegraph Operator, born in NC and living in the home of Susan A. Griswold, Hotel Keeper, in the town of Goldboro. There was a Griswold Hotel in the city around this time.


If there was a Lenoir County connection for any of these men, it would likely have been through Selathiel Potts as father.
