Written: 3 Dec 1753 Bk 2, pg 336 New Bern, I acknowledged for the consideratin of six pounds to me in hand paid to be fully satisfied for the two within mentioned Lotts of ground by Benjamin Doty and Jas. Harris to whom for said sum I do assign over all mentioned Lotts of ground witness my hand the day and year above written. Longfield Cox. These may certify that the within mentioned Lott no. 269 was built on and saved according to law within the limited time by Longf'd Cox as witness our hands this 15th Jun 1757. Written: 24 Jan 1756 Bk 9, pg 193 Owen Daughety of Craven County for fifteen pounds sterling to Lemuel Harvey Copper of the same county a parcel of land containing 100 acres being in Craven on the south side of Neuse River beginning on the river side above the plantation that Solomon Daugherty lived, along courses of a deed of sale since delivered by William Dupre to me Owen Daugherty on the third day of September 1743 to Daniel Daughertys upper line, to the river. Written: 5 Jan 1762 Bk 11, pg 139 Owen Doughety of Craven County, Deed of Gift - for the natural love I have for my children Owen, Richard, Susannah, Elizabeth and Sarah hath given and granted to them as follows: First, to my oldest son Owen Daughety a plantation whereon I live containing 140 acres. Secondly, to my second son Richard Daughety a piece of land lying above the Bone Grave Branch to John Carmacks line. Thirdly, to my eldest daughter Susannah Broom and Elizabeth Daughety the lower part to Susannah and the upper to Elizabeth equally divided between the land which I had of Benjamin Cooper. Owen Daughety, 50 acres, Land Grant No. 579 - Entered 1 May 1788 Issued 20 Dec 1791. On south side of Neuse River.. State of North Carolina - No. 579. Know ye that we have granted unto Owen Daughety fifty acres of land in our county of Craven on the south side of Neuse river and west side of the meadow beginning at a pine Box and West corner and runs with West line north thirty west one hundred and nine poles to again Daniel West corner then with Smiths line south fifty five west forty poles to a hickory stake in Daniel Daughetys old field then south one hundred and three poles to a pine then south twelve east thirty one poles to Boxs line then with his line to the beginning.
