26 May 1786 - Needham Whitley, Johnston County for the natural love and affection I have and bear unto Whitley Stevens of County aforesaid, son of Belinda Stevens, widow of Jacob Stevens dec'd, £100 specie to be paid by or on the 26th day of May 1790 with lawful interest from the date hereof. In case said Whitley Stevens do die before he arrives to the age of 18 years, the said £100 and interest I invest it in his mother Belinda Stevens. Wit: Is.
