William Casey, son of Micajah Casey and Sarah his wife, was born ca 1774 in Wayne County on his father's farm on Sleepy Creek and died on his own plantation in the New Hope area of Wayne County in 1834. He married Zilphia born ca 1790 in Wayne County. William and Zilphia sold their title, interest and claim in the land of Reuben Hines Dec'd. in 1813. Image

Zilpha and some of her children were living in Johnston County in the 1850 and 1860 census and in Lenoir County in the 1870 census.

William and Zilphia were the parents of the following children:

Micajah Casey born ca 1810 and married Sarah A. Smith. They lived in the New Hope area. He left a will in Pamlico County, NC written April 19, 1869.

Reuben Casey was born ca 1812 and never married and was living with his mother in the 1870 Lenoir County Census.

Matthew Casey was born 1814 in Wayne County and married Catherine. He died bef 17 Jun 1891 in Wayne County.

Alexander Casey was born ca 1818 in Wayne County. He moved to Pamlico County, NC.

Wright Casey was born 1824 on his father's plantation on Bear Creek and died 1876 on his own plantation on what is now called "The Cliffs of the Neuse State Park." He married Mary Harrell, born 1832 and died 1900.

Susan Casey was born ca 1824 in Wayne County and living with her mother in the 1870 Lenoir County Census.

John P. Casey was born in Wayne County ca 1825. He married 10 Sep 1854 to Anna Freeman, daughter of William Freeman of NC.

Hepsey Casey was born ca 1828 in Wayne County and living with her mother in the 1870 Lenoir County Census.

Barnabas Casey was born ca 1830 in Wayne County and died of typhoid fever before the 1860 census of Johnston County where he and some of his family were living.

Martha Anne Casey was born in 1833 in New Hope District of Wayne County and died 28 Jul 1897 in Indian Springs Township. She married 22 Sep 1853 in Johnston County to Arthur Wiggs born in Johnston County who died there in 1860 of typhoid fever. Arthur was a farmer. They were the parents of three children: William B., Elizabeth and Mary Susan Wiggs. After the death of Arthur, Martha Anne married in Pamlico County to Edward White, a Free Will Baptist Minister.

Indenture made 30 Nov 1850 between Zilpha, Reuben, Susan and Hepsey Casey of the county of Johnston on the one part and Wright Casey of Wayne on the other part, for $1250 land in Wayne on the west side of the north prong of Bare Creek and known in most part as a part of the several shares in the division of the land of William Casey adjacent to the mouth of the Big Branch, up the Wright land, James Parks line, Flowers corner, Matthew Casey's corner, Henry Smith's line containing 330 acres. 1851 - Zilpha, Reuben, Susan, Epsey, Barna & Martha Ann Casey by their guardian Reuben Casey were petitioners and that the land mentioned and set forth in the petition in this cause, be sold by the Clerk and Master of said Court, at the Court house in Waynesborough on a credit of twelve months at which sale the said tract of land hereinafter particularly described was purchased by Wright Casey. More

Indenture made 26 Nov 1855 between Reuben Casey and Barnabas Casey both of Johnston, for $300 land in Johnston son the southside of Mill Creek adjacent to the westside of Wise Branch, Nathan Tolers line, Isiah Walker Branch, Thomas Toler, Sarah Walker Branch, Flowers corner containing 141 acres. Indenture made November 6, 1806 between William Casey to Micajah Casey [Jr] both of Wayne, for $24, which land fell to William Casey by the death of his father Micajah Casey Sen one eight part of his land. Indenture made 25 Aug 1812 between Sally Casey, William Casey and Richard Casey on the one part and William Whitfield all of Wayne, for $318.25 land in Wayne on the east side of Sleepy Creek it being our shares of the land where on our Father formerly lived as follows to wit the said Sally Caseys share thereof twenty two acres and two sevenths she having previously sold her interest in her fathers land to her Brother Micajah Casey who died Intestate she therefore being entitled to one Seventh part of his land which makes the quantity as sevenths he having sold out his interest as above the said Richard Caseys share thereof is fifty three acres and a half he being entitled to his distribution share of both his father and brothers lands as above reserving nevertheless to our Mother her right of Dower in said land containing 98 acres.
