Micajah Casey was born ca 1810 and died after 1870. He was the son of William Casey (1774-1834) and Zilphia Hines, daughter of Reuben Hines. He was the eldest of their ten children and the grandson of Micajah and Sarah Casey. He married Sally Smith, daughter of Elijah Smith in 1833. They were the parents of fifteen children. Five of their sons served in the Confederate Army during the Civil War and all returned except Wright who died enroute home. Their children were:

Indenture made January 22, 1836 between Micajah Casey and Lemuel Hill both of Wayne, for $600 land in Wayne on the east side of Hoods Swamp and adjacent to Zadock Thompson dec'd heir's line, William Smith's corner and containing 354 acres. Indenture made November 30, 1842 between Micajah Casey and Thomas Uzzell both of Wayne, for $600 land in Wayne on the north side of Neuse River on the south side of the west prong of Bare Creek adjacent to Taylor Smith's boundary on run of said creek, north side of Hay Meadow, Benj'a Hamm's corner, Poplar Branch, Benj'a Best line and containing 225 1/2 acres. Indenture made 16 Jan 1869 between Micajah Casey and Sarah Casey his wife both of Craven and James Brown of Lenoir, land in Wayne which Sarah Casey owned a life estate, said land on the north side of Neuse River adjacent to Henry Sasser, Abia Herring and George Daily known as the "New Hope" tracts. The right and title of the land and life estate was secured to the said Sarah Casey by a decree of the Court of Equity of Wayne and she has agreed in the sale. I Micajah Casey for love and affection I have unto my wife Sarah Casey do loan to her during her natural life land in the county of Craven on the south side of Bay River adjoining the lands of W. D. Ferebee being part of land which Micajah Casey lately purchased of Ferebee adjacent to Ferebees line, Micajah Caseys back line, near said Caseys residence containing 100 acres. Witness: John Wm. Indenture made 13 Apr 1872 between Micajah and Sarah Casey his wife of the one part and Zilphia Casey, Susannah Casey, Nancy Casey and Louisa Casey of the other part for the natural love and affection which they have for and bear towards their daughters, land in Craven adjoining the lands of said Micajah Casey, the heirs of W.
