1766 - No. Carolina. To all to whom these presents and in the province afores'd Gent. send Greeting Know ye that I the sd Rob't Potts for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds proc'l money of this province to me in hand paid before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Charles Darden School Master in Onlsow county in the province afores'd ye receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge fully and clearly acquit and discharge the said Charles Darden his heirs Exr's adm's and every of them by these presents I have given granted bargained sold aliened enfeoffed convey and confirm'd and by these presents do fully clearly and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien --- and convey and confirm unto him the sd Chas. Darden his heirs and assigns for ever a piece or parcel of land lying and being in Onslow County afores'd containing by estimation sixty eight acres of land beginning at a holly in Stewards branch Edward Simpsons corner thence running along the head line of the tract So 39 Et 41 chain to a water oak corner of said tract thence down the meanders Mittims Creek to the fork as --- and up the various courses of Stewards branch to the first station together with all profits commodities hereditaments whatsoever --- the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining To have and to hold --- sixty eight acres of land be the same more or less together with all singular the profits belonging unto the premises herein before granted --- the profits belonging unto the premises herein before granted --- and sold unto the afores'd Chas. Darden his heirs and assigns for evermore and I the sd Robert Potts for my self and my heirs Exr's Adm'rs and every of them doth covenant and grant to and with the sd Chas. Darden his heirs and assigns by these presents the bargained premises and land afores'd free and discharged of and from all incumbrances whatsoever --- the Quit Rents that shall be hereafter due to our Soverign --- King and his heirs and successors excepted fore --- Charles Darden his heirs assigns against every person --- to warrant and for ever defend. In Witness I the said Robert Potts have hereunto sett my hand and seal ---day of February one thousand seven hundred and --- six.
